Find Point Coordinates

The goal is to find a desired point, on a graph, and have that point, and its coordinates, added to the graph.

* Note: While this method will locate "intersection" points, remember that
there is an "intersection" option that will quickly accomplish that task.

 

Press  , #8 Geometry, #1 Point on Line,
#2 Point On

Point to the graph on which you are looking for a point. The "pointing" hand will appear.
Press .
A pencil, , will appear.

Drag the pencil along the graph.
The pencil will be dragging the coordinates of the points as it moves along the graph.

When you find the point you want, hit to lock the point, and its coordinates, onto the graph.




The graph shown above has three "black" points that were permanently added to the graph,
along with their coordinates.
For (0,2) and (2,0), the word "intersection" appeared when the pencil hit those points.
Yes, it will also show the word "intersection" as it passes over the intersection points for the two graphs.
